Aims

  1. Regular practice on memorizing multiplication table by subject teacher and set a learning target to enhance students’ calculation skill and confidences.
  2. Further improve the teaching strategies on the use of graphic organisers to stimulate students’ comprehensive skill and problem-solving skill on the word problems. Ultimately, to enhance students’ self-learning skill and to find the answers by themselves.

Follow DC Team, encourage students to complete preview task before lessons, participate actively during lessons and complete self-learning tasks after lessons and become an “Independent Learner”.
Set up a ‘Discovery Zone’ for students to promote the self-directed learning.
Use interactive learning materials such as iPad learning, individual whiteboard, hands-on activities or discussion to motivate students to participate actively and happily in lessons.
Make use of different diagrams to enhance students’ study skill of solving word problems.
Through different kinds of learning activities such as jotting notes on Mathematics Bankbook, self-checklists, preview worksheets, unit reflections and P.4-6 My Learning Plan to enhance students’ self-study skill.
Jan STREAM Activity will be organised by GS subject. Students have to collect data, design and create their own products, and analyze data. To enhance students’ thinking and problem-solving skills.
Students have to solve the problems that contains daily-life examples in the Theme-based worksheet.
Apr World Book Day is co-organized with Library subject which encourages students to read book about Mathematics. To arouse students’ interests in reading.
Jun The Project Learning has covered different dimensions. Students need to apply different skills to solve the problem. To enhance students’ interest in Mathematics.
Jul STREAM Day is co-organized with GS and VA subject. Different activities are carried out.
 
Year round Through different hands-on activities to strengthen students’ Mathematics concept on different learning units.
